@hockeybroad it’s an LA thing. Celebs go to games to promote their movies or TV shows. Its a joke to think we deserve and NFL team. #failweatherfans
Always happy for long-suffering fans whose teams go to championship games, but especially happy for Wil Wheaton today. He’s been a well-known Kings fan for ages; he’s not one of the celebs heading out to the games now just because the local team is in the playoffs.

Anne was excited when the Kings swept the Blues today at her first ever hockey game, but not nearly as excited as the guy next to her who has been a fan since the early 80s.

My older bro was the luckiest newbie fan ever. He discovered hockey thanks to the 2010 Olympics, decided “his team” were the local Bruins (and by “local”, I mean New England… he could’ve picked Rangers, but I think he had a lot of Bruins fans as friends), and boom, the next year, the Bruins won the Cup.
I was a Whaler fan from the early 1980s til they became the Hurricanes. It was awesome yet somewhat bittersweet when the Canes won the Cup in 2006, since the Whalers never managed to make a deep run at it. I’ve been a Blackhawks fan since around 1997-98; it was even more sports-ecstasy to see them win the Cup than it was for me when the Boston Red Sox won the 2004 World Series, so that’s say a lot. :)
